Do you have strong leadership skills and a passion for art, music, food, film or the outdoors? Do you love to get out and meet new people? Are you looking for the opportunity to get involved in your community and take charge of a fabulous event? If so Sensational Elora needs you! We are looking for dedicated volunteers to join the Sensational Elora team as board members! We need people who are willing to invest their time and creativity into making our festival the best it can be. A strong commitment to the festival is a must, and most of the work can be done from home on your own schedule. The board of directors of Sensational Elora is a working board. We are looking for individuals with skills in one or more of the following: marketing, sponsorship, volunteer recruitment and retention, and social media. We are also looking for board members willing to become event leaders. If you think you may be interested in volunteering, sign up and let us know your area of interest. We will invite you to our next board meeting to get a sense of our team, before you make a commitment.
Do you have a passion for art, music, food and the outdoors? Do you love the opportunity to get out and meet new people? If so Sensational Elora needs you! We are looking for dedicated volunteers to get out into the community and be the “face of Sensational Elora”! We want to get the word out about our sensational festival and need people to represent Sensational Elora and hand out information at a variety of community events. Hours are flexible, only schedule yourself for events when you have time.
Are you looking for the opportunity to get involved in your community but don't have a lot of extra time on your hands? If so, think about helping out with Sensational Elora - A Festival of the Senses this year! We are looking for a group of dedicated volunteers to join the Sensational Elora team and help out at our festival events! We run 6 - 10 events each year; Film On A Plate (usually 2 of them), Fabulous Fergus Pub Night, up to 4 Sensational Jazz at Elora Centre for the Arts, Pumpkin Day (includes packaging and distributing seeds to all district elementary schools) and Sensational Soup-Off. We are very grateful for all volunteer assistance, whether it is a single event or multiple. Let us know if you are interested in any of the above and we will contact you.
Sensational Elora has recently added these two events to our long list. We purchased the monster menagerie know as the Twilight Zoo from artist Tim Murton and now, we are responsible for repair and maintenance of the zoo as well as installation and removal on store fronts and elsewhere throughout the town. The schedule is somewhat dependent on weather but, we prefer starting early summer with repairs so the Zoo is ready for installation October 1. If you feel that you would like to join us for one or more days of working on monsters, please let us know. We'll let you know about the schedule.
Monster March is a single event and we usually require a large number of volunteers to help with parade marshaling, street closures and preparation of Bissell Park for the end of the parade. This happens the 3rd Saturday of October each year. Let us know if you can help.
